More lunacy from the climate/world is ending people!! Now I know overpopulation of wild animals is a concern, in Texas we pay for our licenses and hunt them. What angered me is after being shot they will just leave the carcasses in place! Now the last I heard is California has a lot of people who could use the meat.

First the goats, second pigs, third deer and last will be Bison, I wonder how long before Fluffy is on the list?

In 2004 the Army gave my son an opportunity to hone his hunting skills as a door gunner in a Blackhawk helicopter! I forget how many thousand dollars an hour it costs to flay a Blackhawk, but just the fuel is more than I can afford!

One bunch of humans today trying to fix a foul up created by other humans in the past. I see nothing to get excited about.

Yep, we don't want to give those evil hunters a license to kill those innocent deer, you know. It may lead to more of them wanting to the same thing.

One fishwrap posited: “Hunters from Connecticut want to use AR 15’s from helicopters to kill mule deer.” Some readers upset. I guess I’m upset they won’t be using proper armament. Joe

Me to. I'm willing to bet that all helicopter to game engagements are at far longer ranges and harder than most hunters are used to, making a humane kill more difficult.
Looking at some of the mulies we have here in Nevada, an AR-15 looks flaky as a suitable weapon for use from a helicopter even in 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC.

+1. I’m thinking a .30 caliber minimum, preferably .308 or ol’ reliable.30-06.

The article stated, "According to conservancy officials, mule deer are the most destructive invasive animal left on Catalina."
I thought that Man had that title.
A friend that lives part time there said the Mule Deer are just big rats with antlers.
His opinion is that the island it too populated and too rough of terrain for a safe ground hunt.
