Just kidding, just kidding ( cracker could not resist, he can be a smart *** sometimes)
Now for the real question, When a double feed happens and you press the mag release, on the M&P you have to grab the mag and rip it out of the M&Ps. Now I have heard that on glocks the mag will fall free on its own. I don't want to start a glock vs. smith here but just looking for answers from those that know.

O.K. I need to make it clear I do not own a shield. I have never had a double feed with the M&Ps I do have. I do make double feeds happen with dummy rounds so I can practice yanking the mag out and reloading. so dose the mag drop out of glocks simply by pressing the mag release when a double feed happens?
Moonman would you not use the J frame as your main and the shield as you bug. (I am being a wise guy today)

So you have a shield with double feed problems, but non of your other M&P do it?

He admitted to NOT having a Shield. Practicing clearing double feeds is a good thing, also FAAASSST mag changing too.

Horace & Daniel does not even understand the question. OP does not own a Shield, but wants to know how you clear a double feed on a Shield? Yes? The same as any other semi-auto.

Lame this thread is.

Yup .. the same with any gun. Lots of lame threads lately, but trying to stay positive.

The OP is asking if a Glock mag will drop free during a double feed without having to pull the magazine free...The answer is NO. Glock mags will not drop free. As a matter of fact a double feed will mechanically hang up the magazine no matter what gun it is..

And presspics wins, Maybe I need some English classes to make myself clearer then mud. But then Presspics seem to see thru the mud and answer exactly what I was looking for, and I thank you.

You will never have a double feed with any semi auto pistol especially an M&P what you really have is a failure to extract your spent cartridge for some reason or the other.

Basically speaking what you are encountering is after shooting a round the magazine is trying to push a round into the chamber but can not because for some reason or the other the spent round is still in the chamber and this would be a failure to extract, or sometime you could get a stovepipe where the spent shell was extracted but got caught and ends up sticking out of the top of the gun with the magazine trying to push the next round into the chamber under the stovepipe!

K1500 wants to know how to clear a double feed on my M60 J frame. Will the mag release and fall on its own? Please tell K1500 the answer!

NO IT WON'T! THE J FRAME M60 is a REVOLVER and instead of a magazine IT HAS a REVOLVING CYLINDER that chambers a round!

You are asking about a J frame M60 revolver in a forum about semi auto pistols and a double feed, I am sure you are joking but I am not about a double feed which is a failure to extract a spent round and as stated in my post is the only way a so called double feed could happen(which it aint, it jams the weapon).

You simply remove the offending spent cartridge and continue using the weapon.

With a J Frame M60 (38/357 5 round) found here Product: Model 60 can never have such a problem as a semi auto!

Yes, it was a joke. Sometimes sarcasm doesn't come across on the web like it would in person.
Yeah... You pretty much need to include a 'wink' ;), Big Grin :D, or Stick yer tongue out :p... and even then, people may not get you. :)
