I have a 40c and hate the trigger. I have about 500 rounds through it now and it's gotten "smoother" but still sloppy.

I just bought a Shield 40 saturday and took both shooting today.

The Shield trigger seems heavier but has a crisp break and nice reset. Nice tight travel.

Compared to the 40c, softer but sloppy and the breaks after the "grit"
Goes away. Not tight.

I want to do the polish job on the 40c and want to break in the Shield to see if the trigger changes. If not, I might leave the Shield alone.

Anybody else have this issue?

I have a 40c 11/2012 production date. The trigger is very nice after 1k rounds and a little polishing of the trigger bar.

Yeah I'm tracking the APEX kits.

I was wondering if anybody else's Shield 40 differed as much as mine does from the 40c?

Being the owner of both guns, I know what you are saying. My .40c had a pretty bad trigger, but not as bad as my sons .40c. I bought a .40 Shield and really like the trigger on that one. It made me go out and purchase the APEX kit for the Compact, and I absolutely love it. It is very smooth, and breaks clean, the reset is still a little lacking but you can feel it. I thought about putting one in the Shield but decided it would not be worth it for a carry weapon. You would never realize the difference in the heat of the moment. And the Shield trigger was pretty good right out of the box. I did do some polish work on the trigger bar on the Shield before I shot it, can't tell you if it helped or not, but it probably didn't hurt.

Thank you, that's what I was wondering. Thanks bud
