reloading for my .45 shield, using CFE pistol, sig saur brass from local range, federal primers, and hornady 230gr xtp. anyone have a oacl for these? when going by hornady loading manual they seem like they are seated too deep at 1.230.

Ammo has to :
Fit into your magazine.
Pass the plunk test using your chamber as the gauge .
Feed from magazine into chamber.

The book oal Hornady used is not written in stone , it's just a starting point . To test function load up a few dummy rounds and manualy cycle them from magazine into the chamber and chamber properly and then extract . Adjust bullet seating depth as needed .
If 1.230" seems too deep test a few at a depth that seems just right and see how your gun likes them...might be just the ticket for your's .
Every pistol is a law unto itself ... what feeds fires and functions in your gun may choke your buddies gun .

Thanks, did that with my 1911, was just trying to save a little time with the m&p

seems like 1.25 is it, 1.26 is tight in the mag, feeds fine and looks much better on the seating.
