Has anyone fired a 185 grain FMJ through their .45?
Just asking to see how they perform.
Thanks Joe

No FMJ but I ran 50 185 gr. Remington jacketed hollow points through mine no problem. I also ran some Remington 230 gr. HTP they did fine. I try to shoot what I carry at the range. But money is a factor. I prefer the 230.

I've shot 1600+ rounds of Winchester white box fmj 230 grain through my shield 45 no problems yet... I carry hornady critical defense 185gr, I have over 200 of the hornady through it no problems either...

I've shot Federal 185gr Hi-Shok and Hornady 185gr FTX through it without any issues. Quite frankly, I prefer the 185gr for the single stack Shield 45 and the 230gr for my double stack 45s.

I have done extensive ballistic gel testing with the .45 Shield.
Corbon 185+P and Remington Golden Saber 185+P performed excellent
Golden Sabers were quite a bit hotter than all the other +P's
Federal HST 230+P performed excellent through heavy winter clothing.
I will carry Golden Saber 185+P in the winter and Corbon DPX 185+P in the summer

I have shot Berrys 185 gr HBRN also 185gr lswc 185 plated swc all with no problems. Also shot a few boxes hornady 185 gr Zombie loads. Seems this pistol will eat anything you feed it

My carry load for my Shield .45 is Hornady Critical Defense 185 gr. The Shield likes it, and so do I.

I switched to 185 JHPs a long time ago for all my 45s. My shield 45 loves the PMCs and also my reloads of zero 185 JHPs. Never an issue.
