does anyone make a heaver/ + power sear spring? to make pull a lil
heavier!

also noticed original striker spring was replaced with heavier red
6.3 lb striker spring! and she still lite for me! everything else looks

I just picked up a new Shield .45 from my LGS. The smaller of the two springs on the RSA is colored red. I have not yet removed the striker assembly, however from what I can see the striker spring is in the white (not painted).

Seriously, does it surprise anyone that people who do impulse buys turn right around and decide their purchase isn't for them? Has nothing to do with the form/fit/function of the purchase.

As fast as Shield 45s have been flying off the shelf, doesn't surprise me one bit that someone would buy one and decide for whatever reason they would prefer something else. Happens all the time.

As someone who owns a Shield 9mm and a Shield 45, I can imagine someone buying the 45, loading it with slobberknocking, +P+, 230 gr artillery rounds, shoot one mag, and trade it in the day after for something they feel is more shooter friendly..

Well belay my last. I pulled my striker assembly out and it also contains a red colored striker spring. The silver one I saw with the striker in the gun was the smaller spring.

My gun is definitely brand new. I would have to guess that the red springs are factory standard for the .45 shield.

thank you for your answers! yes my shield was used! buddy came into some $$$ problems after he bought it, the red striker spring looks exactly like the glock 28 newton(red)6.3 lbs striker spring!!! was wondering if he changed it! now wondering what the spring weight is??
my m&p 45 has a 9lb spring and is almost twice as long!

From my experience at working for the largest FFL in Florida, there are people who have to buy the newest toy, & sell it right away when something newer comes out the next week. Just 2 weeks ago I purchased a pre owned 9mm Shield that was made 10 weeks ago. I have taken in Glocks that were never fired, & still have the original gold jizz on the slide. Many people buy a new gun, & throw it in the safe, never to be fired. We recently took in 8 Colt Pythons still brand new in the box that looked like they were made yesterday. So yes, many people with more $ than myself buy the latest, & greatest, only to trade it in the next week for the next latest, & greatest. GARY
