Made it to the range with my new shield 45. Love it. The recoil is not bad for a small pistol. The trigger is very nice, quick follow ups with around 5.5 pull. I put 100 rounds of 230 gr. through it using mostly the flush fit mag. Felt great with awesome grip. Love the grip. Smooth for a 45. I really like this pistol. My new carry. Only regret.... Should have brought more ammo!

good to hear, going to try and get to the range with my new 45 Shield as well

I still catch myself thinking this is to small for a 45. Lol. Looks can decive. Smith and Wesson has some awesome engineer's.

I like the grip too. No plans to hit any of it with sand paper.

I totally agree; the Shield 45 is a marvel of modern engineering, but one gun that never makes headlines is the Sig 250 45 ACP subcompact. I own both; love both and each has been 100% reliable.

Agree, the 250 is slick, but $$$ are on the side of the Shield, all other things being equal.

I agree Its accuracy is amazing for such a little gun, I find myself carrying this a lot. Also short barrel ballistic for this gun are very impressive. Check out Lucky Gunner blogs, The have tested many many defensive rounds from a short barrel 45 (Khar I believe) Federal HST, Winchester SXT seems to me to be the most impressive.

I took my Shield 45 to the range last week and put 200 rounds through it. LOVE it!!! Definately has moved in the DC routine.

In the first 100 rounds, I did notice on the 2 mags that were supplied with the gun (I bought 4 more online just cause I hate not having enough mags), I did have a few failure to return to battery. I would pull the slide back and release and it would chamber fine. I don't really count anything as an issue for a handgun if it occurs during the first 200 rounds so I will see how the next few hundred rounds go.

I lent it to the guy next to me at the range who was shooting a 9mm and 40 shield. After putting a couple of mags though it, he packed his range bag and went to the gun counter to see if they had a Shield 45 in stock.

Ive put 200 rounds through mine and its great.Best carry gun Ive found.

Bought the Shield 45 this past weekend and got it to the range today. Only took 200 gr semi wadcutters with me and it was a disaster. Never got even one to eject. The handloads were plated swc on top of 4 gr. of Bullseye. Tomorrow i am going to try it again with 230 factory ball. The recoil spring is kinda stiff.
