But damn, sure is a very capable firearm. I've got about 500 trouble free rounds through thru the Shield in the last month, and below is typical 100 rounds, press out with 2 to the chest, 1 head, offhand at about 25 feet.:)

I won't "bore" :) you with rest of the details, but the gun is capable and easily wore comfortably all day long. I like it better than the 43x for a lot of reasons, but the trigger and grip are ideal for me.

I have one too that really became my wife's gun. It's the fun one at the range because we can both shoot with some accuracy, feels good in the hand, and reloading is a breeze. I'm a little confused though by the title of your post.

Just gonna leave this here for anyone who may run across this post: Don't press the grip safety when taking down or reassembling!

The Shield platforms are excellent and perform great. No matter how many EDC's I get I still fall back to a Shield. Between the wife and I we have 2 PC's 9mm - 45acp, 2 PC 4" 9mm - 45acp and the wife has a 380 EZ. Shoot them all well, no issues with reliability, and a very nice price point. Currently carrying a PPS M2 but see the 4" 45 becoming my carry in the near future.

I really like my EZ 9mm and EZ380, but I would love to be able to get past that heavy break in the trigger. I'm spoiled by my M41 and Sig P210 Target and I don't want a EDC with a hair trigger, but I would love to smooth that trigger out just a little.

And before anyone suggests Apex, I live in Mass, so there can be no parts but OEM in the gun.

I have 2 9's, 1 40 and 1 45 Shield and love them all, but my wife shot a friends EZ380 and wanted a EZ9, so I ordered her one. This thing has proven to be a *** right out of the box. With her it fails to feed at least every other shot and doesn't do much better with me. I've never owned a firearm that I couldn't make shoot and I'm at wits end with this one. As bad as I hate to do it, I'm waiting on a shipping label from S&W to return it for them to evaluate. It's a bummer.

I have had mine for several weeks now but still no chance to fire it. The action is very smooth, reminds me of an old 1911. Just for sh*ts & giggles, I tried a sized empty case and it fed from the mag just fine. S&W appears to have screwed the pooch with the EZ380 - but the EZ9 is a home run IMO.

I teach a bunch of woman in classes and advise them on what to look at when purchasing. We often suggest the 9mm Shield, The Shield EZ in both 9mm and .380, the Sig 365 and the Springfield Hellcat. Although the .380 is easier to rack for those needing the easiest of them all, I would rather have them go for the .9mm for much more power, cheaper ammunition for practice etc. One thing to note with the EZ is that the grip is wide from front to back for those with smaller hands which effects the reach to the trigger. I have also in one case seen where the small lady didn't seem to have enough grip strength to depress the grip safety which could have also been the tendency that some woman have to not grip as far up on the backstrap as they should and could. The regular shield is an excellent choice that we highly recommend to our students.

yes you can!

You must by state law purchase the gun in its intended form with the crappy MA trigger. Once you own it, you can install the APEX trigger on your own dime. Usually $100 at any gun store/gunsmith. Four seasons woburn runs specials all the time, they will install it while you wait.

ok my wife went from a sig 365xl to this 9ez and loves the gun. Looks like a mean gun also.
She paid and fired about 250 rounds and and came home to show me her new EDC.
WOW cool, and she said the aim is perfect at 25 feet
looking for a chrome barrel to drop in now

Why would you want a less accurate barrel than the stainless barrel that it comes with?

We have 2 of the 380EZs. We both carry them. We sent sent hers in and it was fixed in 2 weeks. Great service at S&W.
Love everything about them. (no manual safeties)
There is a bit of creep on the triggers and I will tune those at some point. But When the budget affords.... We're getting two 9EZs.

Why not?

Ok, I'm curious; what's with the Don't press the grip safety when taking down or reassembling??

My Dad speaks highly on his 9EZ. Easy rack slide, easy charge mags, accurate. What's not to like?

I recently purchased a Shield 9mm EZ Performance Center to add to my collection. My arthritis makes it very difficult to rack several of them. The EZ is just that EZ. But it shooting low. I put around 50 rounds through it all going low. Had a buddy try it, he had the same result. Any ideas?
