Shield 9 or 40?

I thought he was answering the question posed to him about which other M&P he owned.

Who can log off, get in the car, go out and buy a gun... and be back home and on-line in 23 minutes? ;)

Takes me at least 25 minutes! :D
That makes sence, I thought he was on a smart phone at the store. I have both and I would go 9mm if I were to only have one. Too many 40 kabooms. The round is too sensitive to set back.

Acquired the 9mm in May of 2014, and it has become my everyday concealed carry. Both my wife and I just love this little gun! Have not had a single issue or complaint! Coming to you live from The People's Republic of California!

I went with the 9mm. I have and love my 40 (glock 23 fwiw). I've put more rounds through it than any other gun I've had. But I bought that gun 15 years ago, when there was an appreciable difference b/w 9 and 40, or at least I thought there was. Now I'm 100% convinced of the opposite.

There is no significant difference based on my research. This is why so many agencies are switching etc etc. Nope I don't test ammo for a living, but after a lot of reading/videos/shooting I'm more than happy to trust yours truly to the 9

I love my MP Shield .40

I have the .40. I use it as my primary. I bought the .40 because I had other handguns that are .40. I changed the trigger for an APEX trigger and haven't looked back. I love it. I imagine the 9mm would be a more pleasant gun to shoot and ammo is cheaper so it is definitely worth considering.

Love my Shield its my EDC. Just put Talon grip on it. I installed the Apex kit and trigger as well as Tru Glo TFO's and I polished everything inside. Also running the Lasermax. I have probably put about 800 rounds thru it with no issues. I think the Shield is one of the best CCW's out there for the price and for what it actually is and can do.

I vote 9mm. More ammo, and just as effective as .40 (if you get the right ammo), with less recoil, faster follow-up shots, less wear and tear on the pistol, etc. All of the reasons the FBI is poised to go back to the 9mm.

As far as the right ammo is concerned, FBI just issued contracts for Winchester Q4392 (RA9B as sold to other LE) and Speer Gold Dot 54227 (54226 as sold to other LE), both being 147 grain bonded hollow points that are "barrier blind."

If you cannot find those loads, try Winchester RA9TA or Federal 9BPLE. Nothing much wrong with the 124 grain +P Speer Gold Dot (23617) either.

Easy answer for me... 9mm

I can do everything I need to do with a 9mm that I can do with a .40S&W, and I get a extra round to boot. ;)
