Thinking of adding a Shield 9mm as a BUG and around the yard carry. I think the Shield is the best option going for a small, single stack 9mm. For those that own one, how are they durability wise and how many rounds through yours?. I thank you for your information. Bill

I have a Shield 9mm with about 600 rounds through it. I've fired Remington, Sellier& Beloit, Hurter's, Ficcochi and Federal ammo through the pistol and have had "0" issues or failures of any kind.
In search of a small pistol that I can stick in my coat pocket as I head out the door, I haven't found anything that works as well as the Shield. Over the last year or two I've tried the new Colt Mustang, a Kahr PM9 and a XDs .45.

I got one of the first ones out after it was featured at SHOT show a few years back. ZERO issues and have lost track of round count after a couple thousand rounds. Took a bit, but I found 8 round mags and do like those for just a bit of a better grip. Although the 7 works just fine too. Also eats anything I feed it.

I've had mine around six months and about 500 rounds through it with no problems at all and it's carried daily all day in a pretty rough environment and she has stood up to it flawlessly and I'd recommend one to anyone.

Thanks a lot for the good input and I really appreciate it. Going to my LE dealer this Monday morning to pick up my new Shield 9mm. Just placed an order with High Noon Holsters for a pocket and IWB holster for it. Bill

I've had my Shield since May '12 and Been carrying since June '12 (thorough testing before carrying). I've also lost count of rounds (100-200 weekly since May '12?), but have had 0 malfunctions with any U.S. made (SAAMI Spec Brass cased) ammo out there, other than 1 or 2 FTFeed/FTX with WWB 100 round Value Packs (But I've never liked WWB-VP).
It just keeps on chugging.

Ive had my Shield 9 since end of November and have put probably close to 800 rounds through it, and the one and only malfunction I had was in the first mag and that could have been from me but not sure. Other than that, this gun has chewed up everything I have put through it including SD ammo. I am very comfortable with this being my EDC. The spring is very tight out of the gate and that could have also caused my malfunction, but who knows. I love this gun. Couldn't be more happy.
