I get my Shield either Wed or Thur (YAY!)

I have a question concerning the two mags with the gun

you get a 7 and 8 rounder.

is the 8 rounder the same mag body as the 7, with an extender attached?

I just want to know before I get it in my hands!!

thanks in advance

I believe its a different magazine. If you were to take the sleeve off the 8 round and stick it in the gun...it would look like a longer version of the 7 round. At first I liked the 7 shot better as it conceals slightly better but now I like the 8 round as I shoot it much better.

8 round mag has a better feel and helps with control.
midwayusa had extra mag's priced right.

If I remember correctly, the 8 round magazine adds 3/8 of an inch to the grip. It makes a pretty big difference. Adding Talon grips helps too. I think the shield is a pretty smooth shooting rig. I've shot a friends LC9, and think it has more muzzle flip, and my SR9c has as much felt recoil to me.

Your gun is almost here... Wait and try out both magazines.

The shield comes with a 8 round "extended magazine" as well as a 7 round magazine. You can see the difference in this pic below:

Once you get the gun and figure out what you want both magazines are in stock at 44mag.com. I originally ordered a 9mm 8 round magazine from S&W's website but they didn't have any mention on there that they were backordered. I canceled that order and put in an order through 44mag.com the other day.

Congrats on the new gun. I haven't shot mine yet but I have a feeling I'll like it. :)

I got it today.

the 8 feel good and the 7s, I just hook my pinky on the bottom.

Trigger had a very gritty feel. after 20 or so dry fires....started smoothing a bit.

I field stripped.....the trigger press is smooth.

I depressed the firing pin safety....found the roughness in the trigger press.

not really worried about it at this time, might just need shooting or some polishing. The gun feels good in my hand.

I ordered an 8 round mag (44mag) and with a little extra oil...this gun is ready for shooting.

I was a little worried about trigger reset....the trigger reset is more pronounced. My Cozy Partner will be here next week and this may be my full time off duty carry.

My buddy has a shield and I have a 9c with the same trigger after about 100 rounds the trigger feels alot better on both.

Do you have a Cozy now? I am looking at those wondering if they are good holsters.

By the way.. I see Bud's Police just received something like a 1000 Shields and has them on special for $335 with free shipping....

Now that you have one you will find a bunch more on sale though. ;)

Thanks for the heads-up on 44mag.com fellas. Looking forward to trying the Shield.
