Had a chance to take my Shield 9mm and my M&P9c out to the range again today for about 500 more rounds.

I had a friend who is waiting for his shield ask me how the recoil from the shield stacked up when compared to the 9c, so I tried to pay extra attention to it. As far as my opinion goes, the shield has only a little more recoil than my 9c. I was very pleasantly surprised.

This is the second time out with the Shield and it now has about 1000 rounds through it. I must say, its a sweet shooting gun and I have had 0 failures in it. I have shot cheap ammo too, a lot of Magtec and a lot of Atlanta arms. I also have 100 rounds of Critical Defense through it with no issues at all.

As for the 9c...I am sure it goes without saying but another successful day. I love this gun, its my second 9c and maybe I am lucky but I am yet to have 1 failure in this gun either...probably have combined 5000 rounds through both the M&P9c and not one failure...surprising to say the least as I always shoot cheap ammo, would have through I at least would have had some ammo caused failures.

Definitely loving M&P products, wont leave home without it!

Glad you had a good time at the range, with two great guns! I hope to get to put some more rounds thorugh my Shield on Monday, I might even take my 9 Pro with me as well. Both have been problem free since I bought them.

Did the 9c also show a little less muzzle flip than the shield ? Would you say for someone that is more sensitive to recoil, the 9c might be a better choice, than the Shield ?

I have the 9C and shield also, actually the wife has my shield now. The recoil has only a small amount more flip mostly because it is a slimmer, lighter firearm. My wife just started shooting recently and she shoots my 9C better but is determined to get "her" shield to group the same as the 9C. Only the shooter can decide if it is comfortable to shoot or not. I know the shield has a lot less recoil flip than my .380, that thing is a bear to shoot.
