What is the latest word on deliveries of the 9mm Shield. I have had one on order for about two months.

You may do much better by cruising the various auction and sale sites, rather than waiting for one to show up at a dealer.

I traded a Glock for my first one, then found another BNIB online at a reasonable price, delivered.

I was in Apopka, FL early last week and a LGS had about one dozen 9mm & one dozen 40 cal that I saw behind the counter. I'm not sure if they had more in the back of store or not. They were selling for $449 each, the store is called 'Straight Shoot'. Shoot Straight

Another store right up the road, TDZ-DiscountFirearms.com - New and Used Guns, Pistols, Rifles, Revolvers, Shotguns, Knives, Tasers, Bow and Arrow, Fishing, Ammunition, Safety and Carry Conceal Weapons Classes, were selling them for $399, but had none in stock at present.

My Shield was delivered to my dealer on Thursday. Took it to the range on Friday and ran about 250 rounds through it. Ran perfectly. I think I've found the pistol that I'll keep for life.

I was lucky i got mine in two weeks when they first came out but my friend ordered his and it took about 9 weeks to come in. Hang in there no need to tell you how great the shield is since all the reviews are great. When i go to the range everyone wants to see it.

Good thing i have patience i ordered a Kel Tec Sub 2000 9mm and that is going to take every bit of 6 to 8 months to come in ! I hope yours comes in soon for you and when it does it will feel like Christmas day for you ! Good Luck

I have decided to quit looking so hard, not pay the market driven high price, and just wait for one to show up...have haunted auction sites, checked Academy repeatedly, have a request in to Bud's guns, lost one to a local sale in a forum ad. Not going to worry about looking all over hell and Texas for one as it isn't worth worrying about and I won't have to have the regret of buying one at $500 when they are much less later on. I'll just keep carrying the 642 in my pocket till I run across one or somebody stocks one at the LE discount.
But I will buy one.

Okay, that was all a lie to make other folks quit looking. I am going to keeping looking on the 'net and doing all those other things about 5 times a day and get the first one I can get my grubby fingers on. Have even tried to strike up a friendship with local Academy guys in hopes of unethical preferential treatment. Am considering outright bribes... ;-)

I have one on backorder with a distributor for a month. When it shows up, it shows up. Not going to bust me if I don't have one in my hand. I have a Walther PPS until then.

Keep an extra close eye out after the next couple weeks. S&W is on shut down right now,so there could be a short flash flood once they start up again.
