Pearce mag extensions will give you a much better grip on the draw. Best $10 you'll ever spend.

I have found the same thing with my Shield 9MM. I have a Stoner leather IWB holster that does this. I later bought a High Noon holster that rides higher and facilitates a full grip. Of the two, I prefer the Stoner holster because the higher riding model sticks out away from my body when I sit with the gun AIWB.

I use a 4 o'clock IWB carry with the extended mags it works great. My M&P 40 Pro works best in a shoulder holster.
