shield ejection pattern

My son has a 9 mm shield(California model). He has about 800 rounds fired and has experienced very erratic ejection. Some to the right, left, up, back, ect. This has been with Spear, Federal, and some reloads, 147 and 115 grain. Anybody had this happen?

My 1.0 40 cal throws them all over the place. Haven't paid attention to if different brands mattered where.

Good shield.
My 40 and 45 versions do that as well. Brand is non issue the little sucker(s) eats it all but tosses the spent cases all over. Makes picking up my brass a little more work but effects nothing on forearm performance.
