If you call S&W you can backorder them. They are 4-6 weeks out from shipping.

That's interesting. Wonder what the possible consequences are of running 9mm in a 40? Not something I'd be brave enough to try though lol.

You talking about actually shooting 9mm rounds through the .40? or using the .40 mag in the 9mm shield?

YESSSS!!! Just checked with S&W CS and my mags are in the mail :D

Why would you do that? IMO .. an accident waiting.

I had a friend accidentally load 9mm into a Springfield XDm chambered for 40 and it would not fire the 9mm rounds (thankfully).

If you mean using a .40 mag in a 9mm, with 9mm ammo, it will probably work, to one degree or another. I know the Beretta M96 mag is (or at least used to be) identical to the 9mm mag, as far as dimensions and follower.

The breechface of a 9mm is different from that of the 40 caliber and so it will not work Breechface - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yup .. with the HUGE demand of the gun and having enough mags for the orders, we are last to get served. That is to be expected. It's the same way with other models. I ordered two and I am giving one as a surprise to a friend who did the trigger work on mine and would not take any $$ from me. He called it R&D and was just glad that I brought it in immediately for him to inspect. I bought mine on 4/13 and Cabelas was the fist store to receive shipments to sell in my area. I bought the very first Shield they sold.
I would guess the mags won't appear until the demand eases some, like what happened with the Bodyguard, but this is much bigger.

I actually found three on the shelf at my LGS. I bought one for myself and the other two for friends that ended up not wanting them if anybody is interested. The price was a little high but I figured you gotta pay to play. If anybody is looking I would sell the two for what I paid plus shipping.

What did you per mag? From S&W was about $38

Message me if you want to know the price, I'm not sure what this sites rules are about selling things outside the classifieds and I don't want to violate them. They are 9MM and I will say they were a bit more than $38.

That's cool:cool:

Grabagun has them in stock for $29 at the moment.

Now they are $31.06 What a load of garbage. To go up that much in less than 24hrs  two bucks is two bucks. Bully for them I guess, I'll bet it's the supply & demand factor. Still stinks though.

I will pass as well, plenty of other sites will have them sooner than later at a lower price :D

I got 3 Shield Mags directly from the factory.

I called customer service today (5/16) and ordered 3 Shield flat/flush bottom magazines. The lady said that is what is currently available/in stock for immediately shipping out. The extended magazines are not.

I'm with you. Personally I think $30+ for any mag is too much. Mags are overpriced IMO, they should run about half what they cost. Not so many years back mags were better priced, but like everything else they went up to.

Midway usa is exspected to have them in stock on the 23rd. Price tag of 30.99$

I saw that to. I've been watching that for about a week, and the expected date keeps moving forward, it did once today.

I've never ordered from them but I've heard there shipping sucks. I was just trying to be helpful.

Glad I decided to order one anyhow when it was $29 ;)

Just wait awhile and you'll see them at places like 44mag for street prices.
