Shield Front Sight question

Hi all - I'm 400 rounds into my new Shield 9mm, and other than having a super tight spring, she's been good so far.

Since we're still getting to know each other, my grip on this "smaller-than-I'm-used-to" firearm has been a large focus of mine on the range. As such, it wasn't until my most recent cleaning that I looked closely at the front sight.

Is it me, or does the front sight look off-center? If so, is that normal or something that's done at the factory through a sighting-in process?

Only curiosity at this point, since my Sig 2022 Front is direct center.

Thanks

From the picture, the blade looks to be a little left of center. You could measure it, but the real point is how did it shoot I those 400 rounds? If you are hitting what you aim at, all is good.

I just pulled the Shield on my hip out of the holster. It's front sight is about like your picture and it shoots POA/POI.

Best of luck

Thanks for the replies. I do see a gap between POA/POI, but it isn't significant. I'll hit the range today and bench rest a few magazines while taking my time. I'm sure POA/POI results will reinforce the need to continue working on my grip and getting to know this firearm.

Thanks again
Be safe

Mine is the same and it fires 127 grain Ranger +P+ dead center at 10 meters, 124 grain HST a half inch left and inch down, WWB 115 dead center but almost 2 inches up.
I carry the Ranger load so I will find a handload that approximates it and use it for practice.

I have 2 shield 40 cals. and both of them have the front sights just slightly to the left of center also. Not being able to adjust the rear sight, I have had to set mine up slightly to left to hit were I want but all is good as it does what I want it to do.

It seems that way as well on mine; however, it seems that the dot it's self is centered whereas the base of the sight is skewed to the left.

My 9mm Shield is pretty much the same as the OP's. It shoots to POA now. But started off shooting left like so many others. Maybe it's S&W's way of compensating for that.

I must have gotten the duds. I have two Shields and the front sights on both are dead center.
