Hey gang,

I broke down and impulse bought a Shield 9 a few weeks ago. Don't regret it at all though!

Anyway thought I'd add to the knowledge base and let it be know that these night sights DO in fact fit:

Ameriglo M&P Pro I-dots, SW-301.

These are readily available on Amazon for roughly $85, which drew me to them, but they didn't say specifically if they would fit the Shield. They do. They are a tad larger than the stock sights, but they don't overhang or protrude in any way as some might have feared. So if you've been considering these for your shield, go for it!

And a few pics... (Those are Talon rubberized grips, FYI)

I got my Shield a few weeks ago too but I was on a waiting list for 13 months; the opposite of impulse! Anyway, I'm considering Big Dot sights but your Ameriglo look better in some respects. Can you acquire the front sight fast? Any chance to test accuracy with them vs the factory dots?

Ameriglo does make sights specifically for the Shield. I opted for the U shaped rear sight.

Front sight come's up pretty quick, given the big yellow outline. It's easy to locate between the two blacked out rear posts.

The tritium lamps glow very brightly in low light situations.

Another cool feature I just found out is that the yellow outline on the front sight is actually glow in the dark, if it's been exposed to light. Doesn't do much good if it's holstered but I still thought it was pretty cool.

I'm sorry I can't offer any accuracy comparisons yet, haven't gotten to the range since the new sights were put on.

Nice. They look like they fit pretty well. Ameriglo does make Shield specific sights that are closer to the size of the stock ones.

Personally I went with the new Truglo TFO sights that fit the Shield.

Did you install them yourself, if so did you use a sight pusher. A lot of people report problems removing with punch so Im debating trying it myself.

I got em off with a punch...and a lot of sweat and tears...

It was not easy, especially compared to my M&P 45 sights which seemed to slip right out. I left some pretty nasty marks of the factory sights.... Good luck

For the fifteen bucks my gunsmith charges to install them, my choice was easy

I just installed the XS "express" sights on my Shield and they work well. I was concerned that the "big dot" might be a bit much for such a small gun. I'm very happy w/ my choice.

PS, my local gunsmith broke is sight pusher removing my back sight. He said is was tougher than some of the Kimber's he's messed with!

I actually got mine installed at my local gun shop, they left huge gouges on my new sights, luckily they'll be replacing them this week, and they bought an S&W sight pusher so it will be done right. I can't imagine how I would have done these myself
