Shield Night Sights on M2.0?

Hey guys. If I were to get a set of factory night sights from smith (is that even possible?) for a shield, would they fit the 2.0 slide? I would like to upgrade the standard white dot sights on my 2.0 when i get it to night sights, but thought it would be unique to add "smith" night sights to it like i have on my shield. If not, do you know who smith uses for their night sights? Trijicon? Are the sights on the M2.0 as tight and difficult to remove as is reported on the shield?

I'm fairly sure the Shield sights are different, as aftermarket sight companies build different sights for the FS vs. the Shield.

Are they easy to push out? Smith says they can give me the factory night sights for 130, i can get trijicon for 107. Smith tells me trijicon makes their sights for them, but i don't know if it's worth the extra $23 to have it look factory!

S&W sights are usually not easy to push out. Many instructional videos give tips and tricks to do so, but if you have not changed sights before and are concerned about keeping a new gun looking new, it is worth the xtra money to have an experienced gunsmith do it for you.

I don't base my desire to change sights on whether they look factory. I want them to perform. Trijicon makes almost all the tritium vials for night sight manufacturers, and the complete sights for many also. I'd buy the Trijicon sights and spend the extra $$ on professional installation.

A few years ago I bought a generic sight pusher for about $80 and I have used it successfully many times. Before that I tried using a brass punch and bent it. I now have a large steel punch I use that I ground so the end is not round but rectangular to get a better purchase on the side of sights. I put masking tape over the surfaces that contact the slide/sight. I only use it on sights I have moved before that I know move well, like for small adjustments.

I was thinking about buying a sight pusher (I forget company, it's blue and under$50) but I don't think it does front sights. If Smith will install the sights and sell them to me for 130 I wouldn't have a problem sending the slide to them, my question is, would they warranty them if something happened or would I be safer with trijicon?

FYI, many LGS will install for free if you buy from them.

If Smith sells & installs them, I would expect them to warranty them. The real answer would come from messaging Smith.

The sight cuts are basically the same on all the M&P series guns, Shield included. But the sight heights vary which can change your POA/POI. And S&W sights are easier to change than many manufacturers. You can buy OEM S&W night sights for the M&P at place like Midwayusa or Brownells. IMO you are better off looking at the after market.

I should add that I pulled a set of PC Ported Shield sights and installed them on M&P 9C. Worked just fine.

I replaced the factory night sights on my 2.0 with TroGlo TFX Pro's and put the 2.0 night sights on my shield. The base is ever so slightly too big, not not too bad.
