Caliber likes and dislikes tend to ebb and flow like the tides. Right now, 9mm seems to be the one that makes everyone excited, so .40 kinda gets pushed to the side. With lower demand for the .40, prices go down so they don't become permanent display pieces. Basic economics.
A PC .40 for $319 is a good deal, and the deals are out there with so many looking for the latest greatest super mini 9mm. I picked up a Shield PC .40 with three mags for $251 OTD. I should pick it up in another week, so I haven't shot it to give you any feed back as to that aspect. Many say the PC .40s shoot very well and are very manageable, many being compared to shooting the 9mm versions.
