I just bought 2 new Shield Plus 13 round magazines. Even using an Uplula, I can't get more than 12 into them. I've taken one apart and don't see anything obviously wrong. Anyone seen that? How do you fix it?

Search the forum. You will find a lot of information about that issue.. or should I wrote feature... :D

Use 12 rounds as for now and try 13th after few weeks.

Leave the mag loaded for a few days and the last rd will fit. It took my Shield Plus about 4 days.It will also be difficult to insert the mag with 13 rds in the gun. It just takes a lot of effort.Probably will loosen up in time.

I have bought 5 so far and 2 I can get 12 rounds in and 3 only hold 11!! Only my original holds 13 and that's a tough 13th to get in the magazine!! I'm using a mag loader made just for these magazines and can't get 13 rounds in any of my bought mags! What gives?? Why say 13 if only hold 11 or 12??

I've been following few threads about that issue.. and started wondering why people do not read forums before purchasing.

Firearm manufacturers always advertise their products showing their best.
S&W tells you what is magazine's capacity, not the way how to load to this capacity.
Shield Plus 13 rd mag can hold 13 rds for sure... how to load the last round is a user's problem. :D

This is known amongst many S&W mags across multiple platforms. Best thing I've done is just load them as much as you can and leave them loaded for a week or two. Then go back in and see if you squish in that extra round. Or shoot them a few times and keep trying to load that extra round. Eventually it'll happen.

UPS delivered a pair of 13 rounders today, and YEP … They are extremely difficult to load to capacity. As in MUCH tougher than the ones that came with the pistol.

Without the Uplula, there's zero chance I'd have pulled it off. Even with it, I literally had to lean over it and put my body weight pushing down to get the 13th round in one of them.

I'm just gonna leave them sit loaded for a few days to see if they start to loosen up (I'm sure they will, the ones that came with the pistol did)

5 days later and they're noticeably easier to load to capacity.

Not where I'd like them yet, but MUCH better.

(gave each spring about 50 compressions & reloaded once again)

… and the waiting game continues confidently.

They're getting there. :)

Wait another 5 days and you will be able to load 15 rds.. :D

Just kidding... I'm glad you made it working for you :)

Hi Smity......I've got 8 13 round mags for the Shield Plus PC, and only 4 would take a full 13 rounds, the rest, well getting the 12th round in is almost impossible. There's a different base plate on the 13 round mag, but I can't figure how to disassemble it??? Can you advise?? Thanks, [email protected]
