This morning I shot my Plus in a steel challenge match. About the 4th stage in, I drew and had trouble activating the trigger blade safety. It turns out that the pin that holds the blade in the trigger had walked 1/2 way out, and the blade was binding. I unloaded and tapped the pin back in with a pair of pliers. I finished the match with no further problem. I may attempt to loctite the pin in. And plan to email S&W. But honestly, I'm really not crazy about the flat trigger anyway. The trigger itself isn't too bad. But the blade hinge is too low to suit me. I occasionally ride my finger a little too high, causing either no fire, or a delayed fire, as you increase pressure hunting for the sweet spot.
I may try to retro fit an old hinged trigger in, since it never caused these problems..

What round count do you have through the pistol?

Let us know what SW says.

I have a PC Shield + and a 3" Shield Plus with 700 and 900 rounds respectively. I've had the rear frame pin walk out on the PC, punched it back in and it has stayed. Looked at my trigger shoe pins and they look fine. Hopefully it'll just stay for you now, but I would do as you say and locktite it if it's a carry gun, just to be sure

Predictably, they said don't locktite the pin, send it back if you like, thanks and good day..

I had no issue with the old hinge trigger. All they should have done was improve the hinge trigger pull and travel, but I guess the cant shoot worth a darn Glocktard trigger snobs won out. The old trigger was fine for a self defense trigger, but people want light competition triggers out the box nowadays.

I agree. But I used a 2.0 with a curved trigger to compete fairly successfully. I will most likely be posting about swapping one into it soon...

I told them I wasn't interested in sending it back currently. And asked agian if the curved trigger is a direct swap. If they won't say, I have a 1st model shield laying around, I'll just open it up and see. If not, I'm sure apex wouldn't mind sending me something..

I have a Shield Plus 4" and have 500-600 rds through it, so far no problems. Can't go wrong with an Apex. If Smith gives you no help.

Apex is going to have a booth at the nra show in Houston. I think I'll wait and see what kind of deals they have before I change anything.. It doesn't really look like anyone here is breathlessly awaiting an update. But if so, you'll be waiting a few more weeks.
