Shield plus striker block

Hello....changed my sights on my shield plus. So decided to clean striker block, etc. Noticed "striker block" has hits by striker! Look at pics....is this normal? Or should i change striker block and trigger bar?

Looking at both my Shields, I see the same areas as yours on the striker and block have chaff marks. What I think is happening is not a collision of the two parts during striker release, but as they pass by each other during reset. They may also be making slight contact during slow dry-fire when the block is not raised quickly. I wouldn't be too concerned.

When you say slow dry fire.... Exactly what are you referring to? When you pull the trigger back slowly?

Yes, we all test our triggers slow, easy, steady, while looking for how crisp the trigger will break.
