Hello,
I recently did some work on my shield.
- replaced the sear with the Apex sear
- used Eezox dry lube on all internal metal parts
- polished the trigger bar
- replaced sights
All springs are original.
No parts were "filed" or modified, only polished with rouge and a felt wheel or 3000 grit stone.
However upon reassembly, I noticed the trigger safety is hitting the frame every so often.
I never noticed this issue before the work.
I assume this is due to the fact that the trigger is now smoother which results in a lighter trigger [desired ], and the trigger moves before the blocking tab is disengaged.
Yes, when I hold lower on the trigger it functions reliably, but is a SD situation, I doubt I will remember.
Possible remedies:
- heavier trigger return spring.
- lighter trigger safety spring ??
- light filing on the blocker tab
- I don't want to purchase a new trigger.
...any thoughts on how to remedy this?
Thanks.
