Shield Upgrade Options

I put together a list of options for Shield Upgrades for our local Gun Club. This list is not comprehensive. For instance, if I listed all of the Holsters for the Shield, it would be very long. I hope this can be of help to some of the Forum Members.
Shield Upgrades (Some of these don’t work on the 45 ACP)

SIGHTS
A gunsmith is advised for changing sights. Alternatively, you can use a sight pusher. I believe MGW is the most commonly used pusher for the Shield and costs about $100. JMT also makes a great pusher.

TRIGGER
Apex Tactical Duty Trigger – The Apex DCAEK (Duty/Carry) Action Enhancement trigger kit is the most popular. YouTube installation videos make the installation fairly easy. The Apex action block really helps to hold the frame in place while you work. This trigger provides a smooth, consistent, and light pull that is noticeably better than the factory trigger.
An alternative is the custom trigger job by any of the following:

I'd keep it short & simple. If the pistol works, leave it alone. Seriously.

Most people I've seen that had issues with their gun were guns that were modified/upgraded with aftermarket parts. Moving forward, On a pistol that will be carried for self defense I'd consider changing the sights.

SIGHTS!

On my M&P Shield I chose AmeriGlo SW245. These are very good set of night sights with a large orange front sight. They also offer the same set with a green front sight as well..

LAZER LIGHTS!

I never used them so I can't comment too much about them. But I do see how they can help in a SD situation. I suggest that you guys try it, practice with them. If you feel comfy with it, why not?

HOLSTERS!

I liked the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0. However my favorite so far was the Cozy partner by DeSantis. it was IMO more comfortable, more functional holster than the AG.

MAGAZINES!

stock S&W mags for the shield are fine the way they are. I suggest you buy more 8 rounders.
