And while we're talking about names and advertising slogans, it irritates me that Glock snagged "Perfection" and misapplied it to their products.

Is this a rhetorical question? If it is then here's a rhetorical answer "because it is their own product and they can call it whatever they want to call it" and that is their own business.
So what would you call a brand new product that you and a bunch of guys somewhere created and offered to the public? I don't think calling it the Rose or Cucumber or even Hamburger would make it sell to too may but Shield signifies either Military or Police as in M&P so there you go, any other questions?

It would be better off to be called M&P Ultra Compact or "M&PUC" for short.
Pyper22 just asked a simple question, nothing disrepectful. No need to be hostile. Some people need to be more open minded. Talking about the right to bear arms and being close minded. You can choose to ignore the question and move to another thread.
Just be respectful, it is our responsability to show a better example to those that are younger if this was the case. We complaint about youngsters being disrespecful and having a smart mouth, well, we need to set an example. I would like to assume that every gun owner is a responsible and respectful member of society, but I guess that is not the case.
I think that SHIELD is a great name, just like BODYGUARD. M&P SHIELD has already made a name for itself and its short of being 3 weeks old. Naming a gun its a brilliant marketing idea. I like this gun better than my PPS. This is my 3rd S&W. I wish I have kept my model 60 I got back in 1987

11:00pm: Oakwood Mall. Citizen was walking through the parking lot when three men approached asking what time it is. Citizen noticed the men surrounding him and backed away slowly. Perp 1 asked if Citizen had any money they could have. Citizen said he did not. Perp 2 pulled a knife from his pocket and told Citizen to empty his pockets. Citizen then withdrew his Dick and held it pointing toward the ground saying he didn't want any trouble. Perp 1 said 'You ain't gonna use that thing man' and moved toward Citizen. Citizen pointed his Dick at Perp 1 who then stopped his advance. Perp 2 asked Citizen 'Is that thing loaded man?' to which Citizen answered, 'I'm celebrating my 25th anniversary this Friday, what do you think?'. The three perps all screamed and ran as fast as they could....
