Just picked up a new shield 40 yesterday! Made it to the range today for the first time with it. And I have to say I like it!!! Its definitely no range gun lol my hand took a beating! It shot straight and cycled perfectly. Ran 50 rds of federal 180 grain fmj and 50 reman freedom munition 165 gr fmj. Shot at a few paper targets about 18 ft out. No fails whatsoever. And the mags and slide seamed to loosen up quite a bit. Hopefully make it back out tomorrow or Thursday uploadfromtaptalk1399413129474.jpg

Nice. It is nice to know I wasn't the only one that had a issue with my hand after shooting it the first time.

My hand was a little beat after shooting the .40 shield, but nothing like what it was after shooting a block 23. (i love how my computer autocorrects "glock" to block). Anyways, I guess I just don't have the hands for a glock, really don't like those guns.

Sweet! Glad you like. I love not only the Shields but what I call my "Fat Shield"...the M&P 45c...

I have both a Shield 40 and a Glock 22 gen 4. I like them both and find both accurate. The Glock is more accurate at greater distances as might be expected since it is a standard size. The 15 round mag increases the fire power over the 6 or 7 round Shield mag. Which one I carry depends on the way I am dressed. The Shield makes a good pocket gun in a pair of slacks.

Congrats on the new Shield. That "like" will turn to "love" before too long.

Nice shooting! Glad to hear you like your Shield because I really love mine. I'm not really surprised the .40 is a bit snappy in the hand, that's a pretty snappy round IMO.
