I ordered two 10 round short magazines from Smith & Wesson on Jan 4 2013 and received shipping notiice this AM.
I also followed another member's advice and bought a can of FDE camouflage paint at Wallymart, sprayed a short mag and it now matches my FDE 15-22. The important thing is to let the paint dry about two weeks and just cover the mag with color so the paint is not too thick. There will be a few small rub marks where the mag is inserted but all in all it looks pretty cool.

10 round short mags

I also ordered two 10 round short magazines the 1st week of January. Received notice July 9th that the magazines had shipped. 6 months!

Shorty 10 rounders are the new go to mag for me.

I have 6 of the 25rd mags that I dont even use anymore thanks to those 10rd shorties.

The 15-22 is more versitle with the shorter mags in my opinion as I am too old to have a 35 rounder in the rifle and a bayonet in my teeth as I swing into action. I can remember that time however.
The 15-22 is such a neat rifle that it rekindled my interest in AR's (that and the unpopular light shed on them by "da prez") so I built a few of them, even one with a DPMS .22 LR upper but the 15-22 remains my favorite for shooting fun.
I guess it is time for S&W to give us something new and exciting using the 15-22 platform?

I just received the email that my S&W order from January shipped. But I forgot what I ordered. I guess it'll be a surprise! It can't be 25 round mags because they are illegal here in the Soviet State of New York. Maybe I ordered a few short 10 round mags. We can still purchase them, but are only supposed to put 7 rounds in them.

17 sounds neat, I'm sure S&W has had thoughts on this very subject. Of course then you will need a new rifle, extra mags, ammo to burn, optics, etc. maybe I should not have brought up the subject as my wallet is groaning already.

Got my email notification as well, 5 10 round shorties inbound. Ordered 1/3/13 when the web site still showed them in stock. ;)

As far as a new 15-22 product, that would be cool, (just because) 17hmr might stretch her legs a little. Heck, I would settle for a 22 magnum, (again, just because)

Taco Da TugBoat....don't know what it means but that is one funny moniker! Of course I could look at a tug boat and get sea sick - without the Taco. Used my new 10 round mags today, worked well with a short bipod.
