Hi There,

A new member here wanted to purchase a latch spring from
me for his engraved No. 3 American. The problem is he lives
in Canada and I've been trying to figure out the shipping. The
prices I get from shipping calculators are crazy high. For ex-
ample, the cheapest price for USPS First Class Package for a
small padded envelope was $37.66!

Any ideas on how I can do this for a cheaper price?

Cheers!

Just FYI you should be aware that the export of anything remotely resembling a "gun part" has some serious potential legal issues attached. If you do so, and you should not have without federal permission and the appropriate permit, you can get into some expensive and serious legal trouble.

As it isn't very big take a piece of cardboard make a cutout in it, tape both sides of the cutout with spring inside. Stick it in an regular envelope with a note about fixing a fishing reel. Buy a Global Forever Stamp for $1.55. Drop it in a mail pickup box using you MIL's return address.

Hi There,

I know about being discrete about shipping the part. I was going
to just call it a "latch spring" for declaration purposes.

I will check with Fedex about shipping. Hopefully I can find a
reasonable, cost effective way to send him the spring.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Cheers!
