Anybody else watching this series on USA network? Loosely based on the Mark Wahlberg movie. Worth checking out IMHO.

I watch it, hunt the book "Point of impact" by Steven Hunter as this is what its based on with upgraded rifles and Nick Memphis has morphed into Nicole Memphis, it is well done and interesting. Jeffr

Fun show. At first I was comparing it to the book and the movie. Didn't like it. Then I decided not to compare and just watch it.
I like it now.

Stephen Hunter was in the first episode - he played the gun store owner.

I like the show a lot and accepted that a series has to change from the movie plot since it's meant to go on for a while. I'm not at all sure this series will make it though. We'll just have to wait and see.

Well thats interesting as I missed the first episode I did not realize he was in it. I had tried to watch it back in the summer, the paper would list it and I would go to USA network and it would be something else that went on for two weeks and then the paper said it would be shown later. Jeff

It was held off to due to on-going current events and was thought to be in bad taste to air it then.

The book is one of my favorites and it is hard for any film to compare to a good book so I try to forget about the book and go for the film as something not related even when they try to follow the storyline of the book. Shooter seems to have some potential.

Watched available episodes. Man, they just couldn't help themselves to fill it in with some propaganda: make 2A supporters look like looneys, picture those evil gunshows as bunch of lunatics and of course some special kind of evil rifle (plus super special evil ammo). But I guess we'll find out that the root cause of all problems is "private contractors". If only we could delegate all work to the government *sigh*.
