shooting glove recommendations?

I just went shopping/investigating for weightlifting gloves and found the following:

At Dick's Sporting Goods, they carry Harbinger gloves. I looked closely at the Pro model ($15) and the Power model ($10), and couldn't really tell which had heavier padding, so I figured they must be close if not identical. Since the Pro gloves were themselves heavier, they tended to bind up when I closed my fist, so I bought the Power gloves, which I will try today at the range. I wouldn't call either one heavily padded, but I'm used to cycling gloves, so I'm biased. I didn't look at any of the gloves with full wrist-wraps, since that looked too cumbersome.

Target had Reebok's for $14, but I didn't think the padding placement looked all that great.

I'll report back after today's test run.

Gloves = don't.
Find a grip that lets you shoot your 'piece. Pachy decelerators maybe.

Because I hunt with a 629 Classic 8 & 3/8 inch barrel, I wanted gloves that would protect my hands in the brush as well as reduce the felt recoil. I ended up with a pair of leather handball gloves. They have a leather pad in the palms and completely cover the hands and fingers. You can cut off the end of the trigger finger if you want to. They worked out so well that I also use them when hunting with a rifle.

For someone as pansy-handed as I apparently am, there is no grip that will make it okay, so I have to make the best of it.

I loved the new glove (the Harbinger Power from Dick's for all of $10). It makes things much more bearable, so I can actually practice at least a little with what I carry, and also practice a lot more with my practice weapons. More trigger time = more safety. I'm buying at least three more pairs, to have on hand as the padding wears down. And I'm getting a Decelerator. :D

My vote goes to PAST. There is only one gun that I need them for, a Raging Bull 454 Casull. It light also be useful with my Astra 600, which hurts to shoot in a 9mm Luger blowback. I'm not recoil sensitive so I only need them for guns at the extreme.

I know this is old thread, but...

I have gone thru the various recs for shooting gloves

I am not concerned with padding on the palm of the hand

I am mostly concerned with getting padding tween my thumb and forefinger. The recoil is hitting the web of skin there and none of the gloves Ive tried or seen seem to have padding there.

Is there someone who can help me with this? The closest to what I want is the PAST, but that still leaves a lot to be desired.

Sorry to bring up a stale conversation, but my search did not reveal any

TIA

Dick

Not an expert at all. But I bought a pair of Mechanix gloves at O'Reilly Auto Parts and they work great. Great for shooting, driving my car and changing tires.

I use Harley-Davidson leather motorcycle gloves with half fingers. Here is a picture of them next to my Ruger Redhawk .44 magnum. No issues so far.

yup, that is EXACTLY my complaint...no padding in the area tween thumb and finger.

Yep , I use Mechanix glove with mole skin between thumb and forefinger works for me.And u cut the trigger finger glove at the knuckle.

found this post elsewhere and seems to fit:
"GripSwell makes extremely nice shooting gloves in several different styles. You need to call them with the measurements for your hands for them to size the glove for you."

The website appears too old, but when I contacted them, I got an immediate reply. Am in process of buying
