Hi Need some info on a shorty 45. Can anyone tell me what type of frame it is. The reason i'm asking is trying to buy a iwb holster for ccw. thanks Brad

The frame seldom matters when choosing a holster,

but it is a 4516 frame. The barrel and slide, however, are about a 1/2" shorter.

You can buy from FIST. They have a mold for the Shorty 45. I also had Kramer make leather for my Shorty 45. Like Kurt said, most all 4516 leather fits the S45 just fine.

I believe, based on owning a copy of each, that the slide and barrel are the same length on both.

Have you measured them? I ask because I'm pretty sure my Shorty is shorter than the 4516. I don't own a 16 any longer so I can't compare.

The receiver of the Shorty is also aluminum, just FYI.

Yeah, verily, they are the same length. I put one on top of the other and they are the same length. (My 4516 is a -2, BTW.)
