Should I call S&W - Shield FTE

Finally got to take the "tweaked" shield to the range today and I am a very happy camper. Shot 150 rounds of 115 UMC and 25 rounds of 147 Gold Dots with no issues. After 100 rounds I tried to induce a FTE by limp wristing, shooting on handed, shooting week handed. It ran like a sewing machine. Not sure what C&S did, but I see why every one raves about this gun now.

Observations: The slide slams home with a lot more authority that it did before. No issues with staying out of battery (I tried to induce this with a press check, it wasn't gonna stay out). It, for some unexplained reason seem more accurate. Shooting to POI today vs. 6 inches low over the prior 200 rounds. Groups were very consistent. I rotated between 2 eight and 1 seven round mag and everything worked well, the seven round was hard to seat with one in the pipe.

Thanks to everyone for allowing me to vent - I am now a kool-aid drinker!

Your persistence paid off and I'm glad to hear the Shield is running the way it should. Thanks for taking the time to document this case for the rest of us. Enjoy and carry in confidence.

Thanks for updating this thread! I hate it when guys don't come back and tell us the outcome... :(

There must have been a little interference between the barrel and the slide they fixed. Sounds like you have a winner now.

I have a friend that used to hope he could find something wrong with his Remington rifles so he could send them back to Remington. That way they'd get the full attention of the gunsmith who would make them excellent shooters.

It is very possible your Shield is much better than the average Shield now. Enjoy!! ;)

you will find that the ones here that always tell you to put your "trusty glocks back into service" kinda disappear when an issue is resolved by S&W in a timely and appropriate manner...
just sayin...
