Should I polish my 642-1?

Not nearly as shiny. Worse, laser cut logos almost disappear. :o...

Fortunately, the logos are easier to see with the revolver in hand than when taking a picture.

Had a similar issue when Robar stripped the anodizing before plating it in NP3 Plus...

I used to have a Hogue Monogrip on my 642-1 prior to the CT grips, and scratched the bottom of the frame when removing the hardware (where the serial number is; not making it hard to read, just looking like ****).

When Robar prepped the frame, they got those scratches out... as well as the serial number. They had to engrave it back to make sure there was no issues. Rest of the engravings can be seen if you look hard, but not easily visible.

In regards to the polishing, looks good. Not my cup of tea, as I prefer the dull look, but good job. Here is a shot of my 642-1 in NP3 Plus...

Thanks for posting your bead blast results. My understanding is that its harder to clean? Looks good bud, nice uniform finish. I started on my titanium cylinder, 6 hours in and I'm only about 25% done. I was thinking about ordering a pair of raw EFF tips and have them anodized brown, then wax them heavily. thoughts? It'll add about an oz to the weight though :(
Thank you for the kind words, sir. If the fine bead blast finish turns out to hard to maintain, I will go back with a larger grit size to work harden the surface. The logos are a lost cause anyway. :o

Sorry to hear that Titanium is so much more difficult to polish than aluminum. But, it makes sense. I've been told that metal is hard to machine because it work hardens quickly. Still, based on your other work, I'm sure it will be worth the effort.

Personally, I think EFF grips are ugly. They do not look comfortable either. Your wood grips are much more attractive to my eye.

Thank you for sharing your Robar experience and the picture, sir.

I considered their services until I realized the cost was nearly enough to just replace the revolver. NP3 Plus is certainly more durable than the raw aluminum. But . . . yeah, I am cheap. :o

I do like the appearance of your revolver. The silver trigger is also a nice touch.

i have done it, i just used flits and mothers wax this pic was taken bout a year ago and it still looks the same today.

heck i done another one today, turned out better on the last step i used greene jewlers polish
