How many out there prefer a shoulder holster for cc? I have found that the less expensive Uncle Mike's to be very comfortable for carrying my 3" J Frame. I usually put it on over my tee shirt and access it through an undone button on the shirt. Can be gotten to very easily when driving also and doesn't weigh my belt down. Actually, it helps to hold up my pants up with it's belt connection straps on each side. Just wondering how many others out there prefer this style holster also as you don't see much mention of them here on the forum.

i use one to carry my sigma or my taurus .45

very comfortable for driving and easily concealed under my coat. i dont know if i will use it in the summer though. i will probably just carry my Smith 642 in a fobus hip holster. my semis are too heavy and pull my pants down a bit. lol

I use one frequently when in a suit and tie....very quick and easy as well as comfortable. Sort of like putting on a vest that has all that I need in one spot.

I have Alessi's for all three sizes of my 1911s (Officers/Commander/Govt) and one each for my "J' frames and Colt Cobras/Agents. Usually only wear them in winter when on longer drives. Since I retired there just not practical to wear all the time primarily due to concealment issues.

I have one for a Makarov, but seldom wear it, as it can be troublesome to keep a jacket on inside. I remember the first time I wore it I was really sweating as we ate dinner and I realized i couldn't take my jacket off despite it being 70+ in the restaurant.

When I first got my 442 I bought one of Ken Null's shoulder holsters. I wore it on my first CCW experience, the obligatory walk-about in Walmart. I wore it under a pullover shirt. I found that I prefer pocket carry, and the Null holster has been living in its box for about a year now.

I use a shoulder holster for my 681 when I can wear a jacket. It's too big to conceal under a shirt, but I love using it. The best part about cold weather for me is carrying my 681 in the shoulder holster.

I have a 642 for warmer weather. I have a few different holsters for that.

Has any one tried this type of holster.

I want a retention strap on all my holsters so even if I tumble down the side of a hill my gun is going to stay put. I don't like the horizontal carry shoulder rigs where the muzzle is pointing at someone's chest standing behind me, and most of the verticle rigs don't have a very fast retention strap release. If someone made a verticle shoulder holster with a good/fast retention release I would definitely try it.
