This section is slowing a little bit, so I thought I would jump start it with some "Big 3" pictures. Post any Lawrence Leather Holsters, Belts, Sheaths, Ammo Slides, Gun Rugs, etc. You know we all like pictures!

I will start it with one of my favorites. It is a Lawrence Model 130 Type 576 holster. One thing that I find cool about it is how many options it came with. This is a Lawrence Model 130 holster made to fit a Ruger Blackhawk .357 with 4 5/8 barrel. The letters following the model number specifies the many options this holster has. The "F" is for floral carving, the "C" is for chamois lining, the "L" is for black Latigo lacing, the "S" is for a sight protector, the "H" is for a safety strap, and the "D" is for the color "black" dyed.

I ordered a similar half flap in 1984 for my '83 6 inch 586. The twist is I'm LHed and ordered it cross draw with a reverse rake. so I could carry it as my sidearm while hunting to not interfere with my long gun. I ordered it in plain leather w/ smooth pigskin lining. My 586 shows near zero wearAfter alot of mules.Sorry no pic or holster code #, as I'm about 250 miles away at this time. If memory serves cost was ~$135. money well spent.
I visit my former mother-in-laws home place on 85 acres in W. N.C. and will wear it woods walking. I've run across a trespasser once or twice and their eyes first rest on the holster and suddenly I've gotten their immediate attention. Sad that Lawrence went away. You could order the Holster you wanted your way- for a reasonable coat.

The brown holster on the left with an M19 is, iirc, a Lawrence and I think the black holster on the right is a Lawrence. I'm new to vintage leather so I'll have to check my notes. I got them from Crazy Phil a couple of weeks ago.

Not sure of the model numbers, but that's a Model 10 3" in the black one and it would take a 4". Fits the fixed sight K frames well. It would stretch the leather to put an adjustable sight revolver in it. The brown Lawrence fits the M19 well, with its adjustable sights.

It's chamois lined. Chamois seems to wear a lot more and tear easily compared to smooth leather lining.

The brown holster on the left with an M19 is, iirc, a Lawrence and I think the black holster on the right is a Lawrence. I'm new to vintage leather so I'll have to check my notes. I got them from Crazy Phil a couple of weeks ago.

JP, Both holsters are very nice, but I believe the black one may be a Eubanks holster. The brown Lawrence sure shows their great floral carving. You were smart to pick those up from Phil. They are great holsters at a fantastic price, and he is so easy to deal with. I picked up a fine Heiser from him myself.

Here is another Lawrence Holster of mine. It is a Lawrence Holster Model 9 22A. What makes this one cool to me is if I have read correctly, it is a pre-war holster based on the type of snap used. The snap is stamped G L C o in the 4 quadrants (for George Lawrence Company). It is made to fit a .22 auto with a 4 1/2 inch barrel. The mouth of the holster is lace wrapped. I have seen some holsters like this, but not with the lace wrapping. I don't think it was done by the factory. Here are a few pictures.....let me know what you think. Also, any idea on a date more precise than pre-war? Thanks.

I bet you'd find that that floral carved one on the left is actually for an auto loader rather than a revolver. Looks like it could be for a 1911.

Here are a couple of mine. The No. 120 for the model 19 has the laced option and sight protector option as well as the basketweave option.

Here is an early Lawrence model 14 flap holster for a Colt .32 pocket auto. The maker's swastika snap indicates a pre 1930's manufacture. There are 2 holes on the flap from a US Army pin that was on it when I found it.
Larry, your model 9 holster is probably from the same period when ".22 auto" meant a Colt Woodsman.

I think holsters for small guns can be really cool, just because it seems kinda odd to carry guns this small on your hip.

To me, the prettiest, best carved Lawrence holster I own is this one, Lawrence Holster Model 211. On the skirt, under the holster is stamped "SA 32.20 5 ½ ". I know that means it was made to fit a .32-20 caliber Colt SAA with a 5 ½ inch barrel, but it will actually fit any SAA with a 5 ½ inch barrel. Since The George Lawrence Company made holsters to order, the order must have been for a .32-20 caliber SAA. Years ago, turnerriver told me that it has a post war style maker's mark but was made before 1952.

This is my last Lawrence holster and least used. Actually unused as I am not a 1911 kind of guy.

It was a gift from a widow. She knew I enjoyed firearms and etc. Her husband got it for a 1930s Commercial 1911.

It was a gift from a widow. She knew I enjoyed firearms and etc. Her husband got it for a 1930s Commercial 1911.

Kevin, that is a really nice 1911 holster. It is kinda cool that you can carry an extra magazine too. I have seen a lot of German full flap holsters (AKAH) that have a place for an extra magazine and a few from the "big 3", but not very many.

Wow John, I have NEVER seen a knife sheath from the "big 3" in the wild! I know I've read that Randall knives used to come in Heiser sheaths.

Lee, that is a nice one too. I see a good many smooth leather lined holsters, but not near as many chamois lined ones. I have a Heiser one.

Abercrombie & Fitch Lawrence 25L

I found this laced edge 25 interesting because of the Abercrombie & Fitch New York Stamp. Heiser made a lot of holsters for Abercrombie & Fitch but this is the only Lawrence made for them that I have had. A nice companion for my old K-22.

I have one Lawrence holster. Number is 28 and another number that is 785. Fits my N frame 4" 625 well. Got the box from a friend who was storing various after market pistol magazines in it! Sold the mags and kept the box!

As you can see, that holster has not been used much and never by me. I like my 45 ACPs as N frames.

Bill, Great Buscadero Rig. That is what I call a LOT of premium floral carving. That has almost as much carving on it as my saddle has.Can you wear it?
