I have a SCCY subcompact 9mm. Probably the best gun for pure value purposes that I own (less than $300 excellent quality). I have a ruger lcp, a ruger lcr 22, a Smith and Wesson Centennial Airweight 642, and my newest and prettiest gun, A Smith and Wesson 351pd 22 magnum. Still can't believe I found it new at Bud's. And I have around 1800 rounds of ammo after today's purchase of 300 .22 lr from Natchez. And "up in smoke" that's where my money goes......haha!
FloridaFlier, you may want to consider registering your smurf gun and ping pong balls...just to be on the safe side.
To all that lost all your guns and ammo in boating accidents, I'm terribly sorry to hear that. Personally, I would have never had my entire stash on a boat...that just seems irresponsible. I did something for my country and donated my stash to NASA.

Did you have a bit too much coffee or is this an attempt to conceal the true nature of your stash?
Too much coffee and 4 kids also not generally good with a camera.

To funny my friend weatherby and yes the picture sort of sucks but it is great for making us guess what the picture is about.

The latest picture is awesome and yes your name is weatherby for a reason. By the way when I lived in Colorado for 21 years years one of my favorite rifle calibers was 25-06 with it's 100 grain .257 bullet loaded to 3200 FPS. They were devastating on Mule Deer and Antelope in Colorado and I'm sure the Weatherby 257 was a step up from there.

One needs at least 5K rounds per year for even minimal training; 10K if if LE or any other higher risk occupation or personal setting. However, this is not a question I would consider answering on a non-secured forum such as this.

Mr Pharmer has a start. A start for the next conventional war with N Korea. There is just something mystical about 50 cal ammo cans -- how much does it weigh, how much does it hold, how many, how long will it last? So many hows and so little info.
For really efficient ammo storage get those black square buckets that bulk chain comes in at the big box hardware stores. Four gallons of paper punching power right at your finger tips. What ammo shortage??
We all got our ammo start at some point, storage is just a matter of cubic inches. Just like car engine displacement, more is better.

The .50 cans hold about 1200 rds 9mm or .38 spl, 9 Wally boxes of 550 .22's and weigh around 35 lbs. The GAU-8 mini gun cans hold 4x as much, I can't lift them. Yellow paint says "1500 rds 7.62 wt 121 lbs." I'm sure they weigh close to that. Joe
