Nothing looks more businesslike than a short barreled Model 27 or a short .357 Magnum. Here is my 3 1/2 barreled 27-2.

66 no dash. This pic really doesn't do this gun justice. :o

I think it would look better with some nice stags and a Tyler T, but I'll make do with this for now. I did my own action job,
chamfered the chambers, smoothed the trigger face and polished it too! Been one of my favorites for thirty some years.
That 27 is a real beauty, I'm starting to get his weird feeling.....................

The only one in my safe right now is a salvage job. This 27-2 was brought back from near death by a gunsmith friend who really knows and likes S&Ws.

He bead blasted off the rust and all but the deepest pitting then round butted the grip frame. As he put it back together he tuned the action and installed the combat smooth trigger. Once it was blued the final touch was a front sight insert my aging eyes could see.

Now I'm on the hunt for a pre-M27 3.5". (smiley face goes here)

Here are my two model 27-2's with 3.5 inch barrels. The 3.5 inch model 27 is my favorite barrel length followed by the 5 inch.

Lots of good looking guns in this thread.

1969-70 Austin PD marked M27 with McGivern front sight, stags, and Tyler's grip adapter. This one is a regular shooter, and a very good one.
