Show off your M & P revolvers (pre-10's)

This M&P (Model 1905 4th change) dates from 1923, and is in excellent shape. It has a 6" barrel.

Here's mine, I thought a family pic would be appropriate. The four and six-inch members of the M&P family are still out there somewhere. I didn't want the 32-20 HE to feel left out.

First is a six-inch 32-20 HE, I'm waiting on a letter for this one.
Second is a five-inch M&P C 103XXX range
Last is a two-inch M&P C 146XXX range

Here's one of my "fun" favorites.... M&P model of 1905, 1st or 2nd Change. These models were made between 1906-1909.

I did have this one lettered and Roy indicated that is was originally manufactured with a 6" barrel and could be a transition from the
1st to the 2nd change.

It has the ".38 S&W Special & U.S. Service Ctg's" stamping on the barrel. It was shipped January 2, 1908 to the
Belknap Hardware Company, Louisville, KY. It has a star on the butt; and went back to the factory on 5/14.

Linda,

Very nice composition - I love the "dead man's hand."

My grandfather's Model of 1902 M&P was also shipped to Belknap Hardware in Louisville, in 1904. He may have purchased it there, as he was a resident in Kentucky at the time.

It's pretty beat up now; he evidently gave it very hard use. He packed it in the shoulder holster shown here as a dry goods store owner.

John, thanks for the kind words. It's such an ugly duckling, I had to get real creative. It was originally shipped with checkered diamond grips which are now smooth from wear. The grips in the image are from one of the forum members... I thought they went great with the "8's & Aces" !

The shot of your 1902 looks great! I like "studio" shots, but especially with the oldies that have that "been there, done that" look, you have to do something different.

My pre model 10.... my first gun...

This is my first gun.... My dad gave me his "old 38" come to find out... its a nice pre model 10...

This was my grandfathers revolver from when he was a sheriffs deputy in the 1930s. I don't know much about it other than it appears to be a model 1905 4th change. It seems to have a good amount of holster wear and is loaded with some very old looking bullets that read Peters 38 S&W SPL, probably a good indication of the last time it was fired.

My M&P(or should I say model 1905 4th change? Ser#760xxx was given to me by my uncle. It belonged to his father-in-law who was a Well Fargo bank detective. still shoots pretty darn good. Tiny bit of holster wear right at the end of the barrel. By chance can somebody tell the date of this weapon?

This is not my nicest one but it is my most interesting.
A model 1902 with a lower S/N than reported as the start of the series by Neil & Jinks and Supicia & Nahas in their books. I've been meaning to get it lettered.

Here's a pre 10 that my grandfather left me, don't know when it was made.

My first handgun, my pops bought it off a guy at work, even came in a great old duty holster. It had a 6" barrel which was bulged in two spots, I later lost it in a move. Serial is C 640, stocks are original, but need some love. Great gun, in the dozen years I've owned it I've shot thousands of rounds through it, now it's time for a refurb, just having to wait, can't find any cheap 6" barrels!
