Thought I would treat myself and went to the 'Nations Gun Show' today. Lots of ammo, of course at inflated prices. A couple handfuls of Smiths, same story. No surprises due to what I have read here. Powder was running about 40/50 beans a pound with a 8# jug of 700X at 180.00 a #. Just too much junk for my taste but what do I know. Havent been for 5 years or so when I walked out with a nice 639. Didnt look to me like there was much going on in the way of sales, but crowds around the black & plastic guns. Parts people were thin as well. I dont see this ending soon at all and prices will hover at whatever the market will bear. Too bad, they used to be really fun, even if hardly any good bargins. Really sad.

Similar at JAX show this weekend. Four of us had a table each, mainly guns for sale except myself. 2 left Saturday so 2 of us got to spread out today, sales ok today, sold my last 1905 bayonet. Looking around seemed every gun was over priced a few 100 clams, ammo was just nuts. Saw a few guns move and some ammo, I found a dealer with .22 Mag for 20 clams a box!

Thanks for report, I was actually riding on 28 and noticed that show is this weekend, even thought of pulling off and visit but I’ve figured that it’s going to be way overpriced. Glad I’ve saved few $$$

We have not had a show since Dec. of 19 because of fear. Sad.

I haven't been to that show since 2007-it's a fur piece to drive from Southwest Virginia. I did have good luck there in 2006. Found a 3rd Model .44 Special that was in the first shipment to Wolf & Klar in January 1927. Even talked to price down $50.

I have fond memories of the gun shows at the old Armory there in Winchester "back in the day" . It was good 'ol boys thinning their "herds" - REAL gun shows !
