No not that bird.....a TURKEY!

My second bird and last year was a small one for three which turned out good.

this meaty one was 18.6 lbs to feed 13. was a little worried if it did not turn out good. took a two day bath in brine mix and a gal of buttermilk.

5.5 hrs in the oven with every 30 minutes I had to baste and the wife made shoes for it....

it was a success and was hired (non payed) as the bird cooker for future events. very juicy and tasty.

Thanks Cooter.... it means alot to have someone recognize it..

When you take one on the wing, it's like a Zen moment. The flash from the ignition in the pan, combined with the black powder smoke makes it near impossible to see the hit. I always walk in to where I made the shot and search the area where the bird would have fallen... you never know.

Absolutely impressive! I just wish he'd quit laying those fine arms on rocks and bricks. I cringe every time I see one of his pictures.
