SHOW US YOUR FAVORITE HAT

This is the hat I wear most of the time. Makes a great umbrella when it's raining.

Here's mine, unfortunately I let it go years ago and have regretted it ever since. Didn't really need it anymore after I left the Charlie Daniels Band..........:(

So Steve, why are you letting THAT guy wear it?;)

I've seen that hat before!

Here's mine. It is a reproduction Marine Corps field hat. This is the style worn by Marines from about 1890 until 1912. It has a fore and aft crease, a Marine officer's scarlet and gold hat cord, and the Marine emblem is pinned on the left side. Around 1904, the EGA (eagle, globe, and anchor) was moved to the front. This particular EGA is an antique and is made of sterling silver.

In 1912, the Corps went to the Montana peak, which is often called a campaign hat.

This is the third field hat of this style that I've had since 1972. I lost the first one in a swamp near Auburn, Alabama while hunting bunnies after a rare snow storm. The second one I loaned to a friend who wore it during reenactments and he bugged me until I sold it to him. This one has been worn in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and points in between.

BTW, I'm the one in FRONT.

Here's a better picture of the hat.

Hi, Joe:
I think "Billy Jack" wore a different style hat, like a Navajo Indian Style.

The hats were a gift from the Bride, who is seated.

My favorite is this outback style. As bald as I am, I have no need for baseball style caps. All I need now is something similar for summer wear. On a cold, blustery day like today and tonight is, it's perfect for deflecting wind, and on rainy days, the rain runs right off instead of down my collar. Girlfriend gets a kick out of it and thinks it's funny, but as long as I'm warm, so what?

My darling wife bought this for me about 10 years ago from an outfit called Head'n Home in California. She liked the green streaks and darker brown spots that were in the leather...
