Show us your lemon squeezers!

My father recently passed away and in the process of going through his personal belongings, we found this lemon squeezer. We will be liquidating his estate soon and I would like to find the age and the value of this pistol. I live 500 miles away from my family and asked that they send me a photo to post. Sorry, but they sent a poor quality cell phone shot of it. The pistol looks to be in really good shape with no cracks on the pearl handles. There are a few dark spots on the nickel plate. The serial number is 229651. I would appreciate your help.

.32 Safety Hammerless 3rd Model. 73,000 made from 1909 to 1937. My own 228xxx dates to 1923 so yours would be around 1925 give or take a couple. I would say $300 the top you should expect out of it, but others can opine if they don't agree. If I were in a hurry to sell, I'd mark it at $275.

Hi am new to hand guns but my uncle gave me this to get me started. I must admit it is a cool little gun and if i can find ammo i cant wait to shoot it. If possible can someone tell me the age of the gun and the type of ammo I can use. I know its 32 short but is it black powder?

32 squezezer

I have a S&W 545xx. if I am reading some post correctly this would be pre 1900? Any help would be received graciously.

Thanks,
Joe

I recently bought my first Safety and now have seven. They are very adictive, do not take up much room in the safe, and are great fun to shoot.

I now have three 38s and four 32s. There is one 38, 3rd Model, one 38, 4th Model, and one 38 5th Model. I have one 32, 1st Model, one 32, 2nd, and two 32 3rd in the collection to date.

Here is what I have to date, along with 3 different barrel stampings that appeared on the 32 Safeties through the years.

As you later stated, it is a 38 Safety. It is most likely a 3rd Model and, if so, would have been made from 1890 to 1898. Standard factory ammunition available today will work just fine in your revolver, since the smokeless loads are very mild.

I forgot to mention that the revolver has been re-nickeled at some point in its life. You can always tell by looking for rounded edges and buffed stampings. It will not affect the function of the gun and these are fun to shoot.

Here is my fifth model bicycle gun. My dad had this in his sock drawer for probably the past 65 years....Serial number is 261285, which may be one of the last ones ever manufactured...Waiting on a L of A from Smith and Wesson to learn more about the history of this gun....
