Show your Triplelocks

No. 61XX. The factory letter says it was shipped from the factory February 1913 to Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co, Chicago, IL. Shipped with a 6.5 inch barrel and adjustable rear sight, blue finish, and checkered walnut gold medalion grips.

I don't own any triple locks, because I can't find any. Never is how many times I've seen one on a shelf in a store. You guys bought them all already, I think. I see more RMs for sale than I do triple locks, including the web of course.

I almost missed this thread. Here is my poor example SN 942 target. I have to break down and letter it as Roy made a comment that it was a special order gun.

Dan, OK to post pics of the two of mine that you took at Yuma last year. I have several others that maybe I'll bring to Yuma next time for your picture taking pleasures. How about T-Lock, serial number 2, in .45 Smith&Wesson Special caliber? ( That's not a typo, it's .45 Special caliber, aka .45 Frankford!) Gun made for the 1906 US Army trials. As you know, Larry & I were going to put on a display of 100 Triple Locks from our collections, for the 2008 meeting of the S&W Collectors Assoc. at the S&W factory in June. We had to cancel the display due to new anti gun laws in Mass. Non-residents can't bring hand guns into the state.

Steve, We are thinking that maybe the Tucson meeting in 2010 will be OK for the display of 100 T-Locks. We both have Ariz. permits for gun possesion, so that won't be a problem. And that's assuming Hillary doesn't confiscate all our guns by then! Ed.

Dan, I've had no explanation from Mr. Packwood as to why he deleted my response to Steve's question about my 100 T-Locks display, in fact he deleted my request for same, so my only choice is to not post anymore info. about S&Ws on this Forum. Apparently it's not wanted and that's Mr. Packwood's choice, he owns the Forum. Post your questions on the S&WCA collector's Yahoo forum, or the other S&W Public Forum, and I'll answer them there. Sorry about that, but I can't share my knowledge where it's not wanted. Ed.

I only have one to offer. Standard 6 1/2 inch 44Spl originally shipped to William Read & Co, Boston, Mass on Oct 20th 1908. Went back to the factory in 1996 for refinish.

My Dad's .44 target, he picked it up a couple years back for $400 locally. All original, no refinish and no letter...yet:~)

Steve,
I am from Alexandria, LA, I am curious if you have who the TL was shipped to? I have found a only couple that area in 35 years of looking, one a 4 inch nickel that was traded years ago and a 6 1/2 target that I have not yet lettered.
Thanks,
Dick

Steve,
Thank you very much. May father was a carpenter and contractor and worked for Brown, Roberts during the 50's and early 60's. They were the typical large regional hardware distributor and sold other things including building supplies and sporting goods. Along with many companies of their type, they closed in the 70's, due to time passing them by. I remember going there with my dad, who died in 1972. Thank you for the memory.
