Can I shoot the .357 short barrel ammo out of my model 66 with no ill effects?

The short barrel bullet is tweaked to provide expansion at lower velocities.

Is it the +P pressure that worries you?

Speer .357 Short Barrel ammo is "-P" not +P, but cabbage is right about the bullet. It is perfectly safe in your 66.

I wasn't quite sure if it was a +P round or not. I just assumed it was since most of the short barrel ammo i've seen is +P.

Yes, the short barrel loads seem to be loaded lighter than full-pressure .357s, and I would imagine with low-flash powders also. Shooting a standard 125 gr .357 out of a 2-3" barrel puts on quite a light show.
