Sickening death of a Chicago LEO

It's not just in the "big" cities. When they knocked down all the vote breeding centers in Chicago (CHA), they flushed them downstream to cities like mine. Guy machine pistoled a young basketball star and father about a block from where my kin have lived for generations. Kicker is he traveled 10 miles away to kill another "Op" in a small town my ex moved to because it is "low crime". The animals are out of control, and I'm hesitant to say it, are in need of severe correction.

Oh they're enforced, just not against career criminals. ;)

Just another symptom of our disjointed justice system. Illegal possession is generally considered a Federal crime, and I suspect very few states have it on their books. If they do, defense attorneys consider it 'piling on' and it becomes a bargaining chip to plead to other charges.

So what happens if illegal possession can only be seen as federal? Perp's brief says to the local DA, "My guy will plead guilty to the armed robbery IF you can make the federal rap go away." The local DA is salivating as he gets an easy win at almost no cost. The local federal prosecutor likely has more work than he can handle and it is in his/her interest to keep the local DA sweet. POOF!! Like magic, the federal gun charge goes away.

(3) Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a person

who has been previously convicted of a felony in this State or another jurisdiction is a Class 2 felony for which the person shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 3 years and not more than 7 years, except as provided for in Section 5-4.5-110 of the Unified Code of Corrections.

That's the Illinois statute. My understanding is that he has also been charged with this offense. Not that it will make any difference. IL got rid of the death penalty several years ago after certain CPD detectives tortured suspects into confessing to capital crimes who were later proven innocent.

RIP
Sad to think he will be out again in 3-5 yrs.

Another officer death is sad to hear. RIP. Prayers go out for his family and friends.

It doesn't need to be like that. Boggles my mind. The machine politicians (uni-party left) make political and policy decisions that directly lead to more tragedies like this, over and over.

OVER WORKED MY *** .,HOW CAN THEY BE OVERWORKED WHEN THEY ARE NOT PROSECUTING A SLAM DUNK ? SUCH AS A CONVICTED FELON WITH A ILLEGAL WEAPON IN HIS POSSESSION AND USING IT TO COMMIT MURDER
YES I AM YELLING
