Hello, looking at the Side Armour holster for the Model 22, any experience with these? They are not specifically made for this model, as they are for the N frame, and after emailing the company they stated that I could get a refund if it did not fit. I need a holster for a handgun class and would really like to go with an outside the waistband kydex holster. Experience and recommendations appreciated.

Thanks

First off, welcome to the forums. There is a ton of good information here.

I have a SideArmor holster for my 5" Model 629 Classic. It's well made and sturdy, and I like the ability to adjust the rake. I'm not comfortable with how much of the gun it leaves exposed to the elements. That wouldn't matter for a class, but I'm a hunter so I got a different holster.

Shoot me an email if you want to try mine out.

Thanks for the imput Okie John. How is the retention on the holster, is it fully adjustable? Do you think it would stand up to repeated presentation and holstering? Also, does the belt slide fit tightly, or is there noticable movement when drawing?

The retention is is adjustable but please see the SA website for details and explanations.

This holster is extremely well-made, and would definitely stand up to what you'd need of it in a class. I used it on a 5.11 double-weight belt, and it was very stable during the draw.

Thanks for letting me pick your brain, will probably order one before the end of the year, while they are 20%off.

I had one for my 625-8, used in competition for a season. When I tried my 25-2 in it, the drag from the holster left left scratches on the cylinder. Don't use it anymore for blued guns.
