Dang!!!! Every time I turn around the gun makers are introducing a new improved cornflakes platform. Sig 365...Springfield 911......Springfield Hellcat.... new sub compacts from Glock. I'm sure there are a few others I missed.

Four or so years back I went to the dark side with a semi for concealed carry. First purchased the Springfield EMP (Enhanced Micro Pistol) in 9mm. A splendid weapon that I can't say a bad thing about. A short time after getting the EMP I was at the range with a shooting buddy. I made the mistake of shooting his Sig 238. Uh Oh!!!! I'm a 9mm carry guy, so next day I'm at the LGS looking at the 938. This will be a dedicated carry pistol so let me see that coated Scorpion model. "I'll take it".

While the Springer EMP is listed as a micro pistol it is large as compared to the 938. Both sport 3" barrels. The EMP wieghs in at 27 ounces. The 938 at 16. Surprisingly the Sig being 11 ounces lighter and smaller is much easier to shoot with a marked difference in felt recoil. I think the lower bore height axis is the reason. (see comparison pic)

A solid range trip to field test the Sig and it has been on my belt since. That little gun shoots lights out accurate. Had it at the range last weekend. Pasted three 3" circles on a target back at 21 feet. Sight picture....bang, sight picture....bang....bouncing from one target to another. Full mag until empty then a reload.

I use the 7+1 extended mags, so I am at a ammo capacity disadvantage as compared to these high capacity new offerings. It gets tempting to make a change, but I just can't toss my old friend aside. Maybe I'll just carry an extra mag or two.;)

Good shooting and nice pistol. I have the P238 and find that its a great pistol for summer time. I ran a marathon last year with it on my waist, so its certainly not a porker.
The 938 I almost bought but realized that my 3913s would fit that niche for me, and decided against, but the little guns are super cool. They come from the manufacturer with lots of goodies too.
The only thing I have noted with mine is the recoil springs go out fast. I dont know about the 938 but its common to need replacement at 600 rounds in the 380.

Love my 938 and shoot it a bunch! Rides in this EPS holster ......

Once upon a time there was a .22 LR conversion kit for the 938. My son had one, I liked it as a .22 and wish I had gotten it from him. My brother liked it enough to buy himself one.
