In February 2020, almost two years ago, LGS bought a P210 collection from an estate, about 16 models and one .22 lr conversion

Many of them were priced a bit above the market imo. Now the thing with the market, it moves, and for P210, it moves up still. Some say you don’t pay too much for collectibles, you just pay up early. Market may catch up, and even overtake.

On the other hand, with the higher prices, they were slow movers. I know the owner well and bought a good number of guns from him. So during that two years period, I ended up buying four of the guns, one by one, and the .22 lr conversion. Some others had sold, and I figured that they are not going to be any cheaper in the future, and will become harder to find. Many are also being exported, particularly to the US. He also gave me a good deal / substantial rebate each time.

The last I acquired in November of last year is this rare 210-3 with its original police holster and two original mags. Abt 7 or 800 were produced, the vast majority for the police of the city of Basel here in Switzerland, the remaining few for the police of Lausanne (including mine), where I live, and a few civilian sales. All were numbered in the P8000 range

It’s similar to the first 210-1 with high polish gloss blue, serrated walnut grips but with the addition of the loaded chamber indicator on top of the slide. This featured existed on the P47/8 and was also put on the 210-4 for the German border protection (BGS, Bundesgrenzschutz)

Very nice, and glad to see that you shoot them.
All the variants of the Swiss-made, SIG Neuhausen pistol (be it P210, 47/8...) are superlative firearms. They will never be made with that type of quality and style again. The only place for value to go is up! At the same time, owning and enjoying them personally becomes in its own right a treasured experience.

I sure wish my LGS was stocked like yours!!!

Classic... in my 66 years on earth Ive found a price for something is a state of mind, and of course, your ability to budget for something. When I was younger I on occasion bought something that was...."Over Priced" but to me it was a quality item that I diverted a little Family $$$ to fund. My Hunches have been 100% correct, and, some items I've made money on a item. A Piper tri-pacer aircraft I rebuilt comes to mind. Ive Bought LLadro Spanish Ceramic Figurines because of its quality and intricate features, Exactly like the 210 you bought. Enjoy well made things while you can because you take nothing with you when you breath your last Breath. Very Nice Collection.

Beautiful Sigs, thanks for sharing! You’re very fortunate to have direct access to so many to choose from... I’d be all over those!
