A quick question. A shop several hours away has police turn-in Sig P220's in .45 acp (basic de-cock version) w/ nite sights, hard case & paperwork, and 4 mags in excellent condition for $550.00.

Good price or not? Might take a ride this morning. Always looking for another .45...:)

Looking at completed sales on an auction site that seems like a fair price if they are really in excellent condition.

3 extra mags worth at least $100-120. So $430 for the gun........

Great guns. Had a W German 220 since about 1989....... will shoot cloverleafs at 50 ft.... not so much me anymore. It or a 245 ( later called 220 Compact;6+1, 4" barrel) is my winter outdoors carry .

Thanks for the reply's. Upon checking my GPS, its more like a 3 hour drive, so I just ordered one for delivery to my FFL. The girl I talked to on the phone said all the excellent condition guns looked about like new. We will see...

I bought what I'm pretty sure was a new unfired except at factory P220 about twenty years ago. I've fired it quite a bit with cast bullet loads about 98% of the time. Trouble free, functions perfectly and will shoot about as accurately as my Clark-accurized Gold Cup, at least to 25 yards. Comments based on a sample of one for what that may be worth.

If it’s in 90+ condition, it’s absolutely a good price, especially if you compare what you get from Glock, Smith, etc. for the same price. It’s lighter than a 1911 and about the same width. I regularly carry my 220.

Have a similar rig for mine also wood ( IIRC factory) grips for winter outdoor carry. Switched from 1911 to the Sig decocker!

Very fair, in fact it's a good deal. SIGs hold their value; I find it difficult to find SIG P series (not P210) under $500.

Larry more than a square deal for a P-220 that appears to be in excellent plus shape for a police trade in.

That’s a good price on a great gun. I’ve got a P220 and it’s 100% reliable, accurate, and feels good in the hand.

Only downside, in my opinion, is that for it’s size, it’s only a single stack, 8 round mag. Not a big deal, I haven’t been in any mag-dump gunfights lately…. I keep mine as a bedside gun, I trust it. I’ve also got a P245, and it’s very nice, as well. Can’t go wrong at that price, and the extra mags are a bonus.

Sounds like a really good price to me.

Very few of those seen in my area. So few that a local store had a “clearance sale” a few years back on obscure mags and other accessories. I picked up FOUR genuine Sig mags at $25 each, still in the packages. A good day for sure.

You’ll never wear it out and it’ll never break down.
